If you are wanting to become a learned connoisseur of wine, there is a myriad of wine clubs to get you on your way. By joining these clubs you are participating in events or receiving literature to help you become an authority on wine. Some clubs are where people get together and discuss wine and hold a wine tasting, or there are wine of the month clubs.

Wine of the month clubs are great for the person that is wanting to jump into the wine tasting lifestyle, but is not yet ready for a public wine tasting. Being a member of this club will get you two wines a month, one red and one white, and some literature on each wine. These clubs also offer newsletters that inform of general wine making practices that affect flavor, as well as events and festivals.

If you are a little more knowledgeable and do not require the general information wine of the month clubs offer, then you may be ready for a local wine tasting club. These clubs usually hold a monthly wine tasting where the members get together and taste wine that is supplied by a different member each month.
